Cosmetic veneers are becoming very popular cosmetic dentistry treatment and is growing every year with the increasingly delivered smile makeover procedure. A veneer is a thin layer of tooth-coloured material that is put onto the teeth to give you an attractive and lasting smile. Veneers are used to treat teeth that might have been damaged by decay or an accident. They can also be used for aesthetic purposes such as closing gaps in between teeth, or to whiten, mask discoloration, lengthen, shorten, reshape or even straighten the teeth. Cosmetic Veneers are made either of white filling material or of porcelain. Dr Daoudi cosmetic dentist is specialist in this type of treatments. What are the benefits?
What will the dentist do? Some cosmetic veneers are built up on the tooth directly using white filling material, while you are with your cosmetic dentist. Others are made of porcelain by a specialist dental technician. Although the use of white filling material produces immediate result with little or no preparation of tooth structure, they tend to discolour over period of time and they lack the strength and surface character of porcelain. On the other hand, porcelain cosmetic veneers are considered the state of art material for the “smile makeover”. They are strong, with lasting colour and the extra cost to your investment is well worth it. However, carefull assessment is needed with possible provision of other procedures (e.g teeth whitening and clear braces) may be needed prior to this procedure. |
